Earlier titled as Love Story, Kismat Talkies will mark the debut of the daughter of Javed Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar's sister Zoya Akhtar as a director. The film also marks the return of Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor who have previously worked in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Yaadein, Mujhe Dosti Karoge and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon.

There are rumors that Hrithik and Kareena have opted out of the film but the producer Excel Holidays denies all such stories. Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan have been featured in four previous films and this will be the first to be led by a director.

The film is based on a romantic plot. After playing a double role in his debut Kaho Naa ... Pyaar Hai, Hrithik Roshan will be seen in another double role in Kismat Talkies. The story revolves around the confusion created due to the dual role of the protagonist. Hrithik plays a model in the film. He is in complete awe of Priyanka Chopra. Even going to express his love for her, but later on confusion infuses the plot because of the love story that revolves around the look alike of Hrithik and Kareena Kapoor, a prostitute.

Soundtrack of the film is that it is composed "Ka Kamaal teen trio 'Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The plot of the film was knitted by Zoya Akhtar and filming to begin in 2008 in various parts of India.

Zoya Akhtar was to enter the film industry with 'Luck by Chance "as a director, but the film was never on the floor from unknown causes. Hopefully Kismat of Zoya shines through his Kismat Talkies.
